Monday November 24, 2008 17:13: Right thats it then, last walk done - around Valldemossa mountains - nice and hard apart from the mist and wind @ the top, bugger no view then (!) So Just finished uploading photo's, well movie clips really (easier and quicker). The photo order is as 'Start to Finish of the route' as per my guide book 'Walk and Eat Majorca' (sunflower books). In no order the list is below: Lluc Monastery (mwv) Port Soller (mwv) Sta. Eugenia (mwv) Valldemossa (mwv) Soller (mwv) Enjoy................................ Sunday November 23, 2008 15:58: Another one done. This time 7.5k around Sta Eugenia, 3hrs of clambering up and down dale! Not even the 'locals' knew where I was going, had to ask a couple of times, I was right they were wrong! Ha! Movie Clips coming................................. Saturday November 22, 2008 18:28: Had to change accommodation today, moved to Soller - The Grand Hotel - bit posh had to buy some shoes (new) got away with the trousers me hopes (sit in darken area of resturant). Took tram to Port Soller, very nice (good venue for lunch!), now back @ hotel, trying to get served (!!) trouble is not many people down yet for dinner. Trying in house menu, looks ok, but we all know what 'looks' can mean....laters........ (making movie clips up, not doing photo gallery) Friday November 21, 2008 16:30: Well seasons over..........after the half went 'tits up' its now chill time in Majorca. Doing some walking! Today walked 9k in 3.45hrs around Lluc Monstary, very good, pics to follow soon in photo gallery. Yesterday when round Soller, bit lost due to places being shut, but hey ho more to go............ttfn Wednesday November 12, 2008 21:42: Ok its not rocket science is it (?) I mean Mr Walker is now questioning the amount of money being (been) spent on the HDG 'saga'. Was it not him that said 'heres a blank cheque!' (?) What did he expect (?). So just who was over seeing the money spent (spending)(?) apart from nobody(!). Yet again its everyone elses fault apart from the Ministers (!!) Minister bashing (?) yep 'fraid so, its amateur time again. With the money now spent who is accountable form the States (?) By that I mean the Ministers (!!). Yes the Police Chief has been suspended, but Harpers left so therefore he's bound to be the target, he's been left holding the baby (!!) Boy that Harper is 'bad' (!!) Quote from Harper: 'We were treating the scene as a possible homicide scene, so where does the investigating Officer get that we were treating it as a possible murder enquiry?' Is it me or has Harper lost his marbles (?) He's just said it was a possible murder enquiry (!!!!) But now he's gone and not accountable (due to retirement) and no doubt putting pen to paper as we speak regarding his book deal......good luck to you and have fun spending the money (!!).
Sunday November 9, 2008 21:32: Well quick update on 'me' race scene, ran last weekend (13k Durell Dash) in aid of Jersey Zoo, good run, nice time 52.30, felt good but unfortunately a side effect 5 days later leaves me with a 'damaged' calf (!!). So therefore no running for me (really don't know if I will run the 1/2) for 6 days and an assessment will be made on the Saturday before (15th) and only if there is NO PAIN OR SLIGHT PAIN will I run. Monday November 3, 2008 13:01: Hello we've got a drugs problem now....what a surprise!!......wake up Jersey!!!! Is it me or have I missed something? have we sold the old Jersey College for Girls site? According to Thompson Estates we have - here - maybe its me. Ah the public enquiry into the waterfront farce. So the law previously stated - 'Once planing permission has been granted, nothing can be done' - doesn't apply here? I think not, why have the time wasting enquiry then....ah PR of course, look we (the Ministers) do care!! B******KS. Make a statement like 'Really extra cars in the area whilst construction takes place? no surely not, the vehicles will just be beamed into place !!!!' God help us !!!!! Wednesday October 22, 2008 22:14: Uuuummmm so is it me again or are we heading for trouble. Our land or should I say WEB's land is in the courts (Irish) because noone knows who owns what (!!!!). Nothing wrong there then (!!) Not even WEB knows...just who does own the Island....pictures say a thousand words...enjoy....
Monday October 20, 2008 20:10: So where are we (?) Well the elections have passed, makes no difference which monkeys in charge really (!!). Missed the credit crunch (?) I personally hope so, but I think it'll affect us later on, bit of a time delay really. As for the 500 extra punters coming over to build a tunnel (!!) we really are over stretching ourselves. Under no circumstances can this Island as is take in 500 extra bodies. The services themselves would crumble, your Tourism (if there is any) would finally die (as Harcourt are asking the hospitality sector to 'stump up' accommodation for 2/3 years, bang goes your Guest houses, albeit its a golden time for the owners! 3 year contract on 3 x 365 money guaranteed!!) Not to mention the disruption this building works will cause, and of course the fact that no-one knows where the money is coming from (!!!). Never mind Eh (!!) snow tomorrow (!!) and the Island will wake up...not (!!!). Friday September 26, 2008 20:56: Le Charly Gaul race report is up - here And I'm sure that the Gas Works testing has already been done (??) Or is this yet another cover up (??) Wednesday September 24, 2008 15:19: Well blow me down !!! ..............the Goose Green development should not have gone ahead! And the reason it did? and can we do anything about it? NO!! and the unbelievable comment about a public inquiry regarding the Incinerator: 'Sorry nothing can be done because plannning permission has been granted' I don't really think anthing else needs to be said! Well aprt from the fact that the Waterfront farce will also be 'party' to the above comment aswell. Just in case anyones interested! Oh and we don't have a drugs problem (as stated on numerous occasions by Plod and politicians)......BUT WE DO NOW EMPLOY EVERY MAN JACK AND HIS DOG AND HIS PARENTS TO COMBAT THIS NON-PROBLEM!!! Thursday September 11, 2008 20:17: Just back from Luxembourg, not the best race for various (well 1 big reason really) reasons. Shame because the trip was excellent, company excellent, venue excellent. Its one of those races that I will do again. Anyway race report being written (might take a bit longer this time!!)
Well I don't know why(??) Does anyone(?) Lance Armstrong making a comeback(?) Its official and everyones waiting to see who he's going to ride for. LIVESTRONG.COM gets my vote, if its a Cancer related return then what better than to race under your own 'banner'. He'd be his 'own boss' call all the 'shots' and pull in the sponsors. Time will tell. Locally.........nothing much changes...usual rubbish. Thursday August 28, 2008 21:35: WOW....that was lucky (!!) just picked up that budget airline ZOOM has gone 'tits up'. I should be in Vancouver now (on zoom) but due to previously mentioned reasons I had to cancel. Also I did get a rebate (!) 50% any later I think I would have lost even more money (!!!!) Thursday August 28, 2008 20:50: Latest Cyclosportive report (Laurent Desbiens) is up on the page. Well I didn't realise how 'bad' our Police Force is. Yet again we have to bring someone else in the run an investigation. Well why not its a blank cheque anyway (!!!) House prices up by 24% (?) Really, this Island is going through a boom time, long may it continue. Just as a footnote [1] How did they come to that statistic? and [2] Didn't the price of a £510k drop to £506k? I know I'm stupid but thats a lose right? No spin in this Island then (!) And blimey thats some average pay (!) Think that needs coat of look aswell (!) Why is there no Law to pursue someone who leaves the Island 'owing maintenance', bit of an easy 'getout' isn't it (?). You know old man Harper (yes the one thats just retired with a fat pension) isn't he subject to the 'Officials Secrets Act' (?) like some of us (?). How right the gentleman from Guernsey is. Dictatorial (lovely word!) Tuesday August 26, 2008 21:04: Oop's the BMX lady didn't quite live up to expectations, never might only 19, massive learning curve! Just returned from Lille and the 2nd of 3 cyclesportives, writing a race report now (be a couple of days yet) enjoyable as normal and more learning for me. Tuesday August 19, 2008 19:38: Well just what do you say? The track cyclists do it again, just the 'BMX lady' to put the icing on the cake. The overall performance (as of this date) of the British team has been outstanding, which goes to show if you spend money you do get results. But it doesn't just happen! each individual must make the effort, again this has shown with the results. To start on a downturn...sorry...locally someone has actually noticed that investors, not local punters, are buying up the residential properties!............Well blow me down, I would never had thought that!! I just give up.............Jersey is a lovely place/Island, but please somebody get a grip before its ruined. Once you cross 'that line' there is no turning back. Big corporations are only interested in making money for their 'share holders/investors'. If it doesn't work they simply walk away and start somewhere different, leaving behind a potential mess!! Think please.............................. Friday August 8, 2008 16:38: Not a good start for the GB team @ the Olympics. Lets hope the boxer who didn't make the weight hands back some of his £70k in received last year in Lottery Funding. Plus his advises are removed from the 'training setup'. Just how do you fail to make the weight as a 'professional'?? Sunday August 3, 2008 12:41: Is it me (?).................or if you keep putting up the prices well then things will be expensive. Once again we are being shown that our Ministers are out of their depth (!!) Saturday July 19, 2008 21:37: Plus of course not to be left out of the 'drugs circle' Messers Ricco/Piepoli/Nevado/Beltran, please go away and don't come back. Although listening to Mr Ricco who was interviewed at a service station on his way back home, he still thinks he's innocent and has done nothing wrong and will be back better and stronger !!! How bad is that ? You know you have cheated - not just yourself but your fans aswell - and you still act as if butter wouldn't melt in your mouth ! Friday July 18, 2008 22:01: Two (2) quick things tonite. Firstly thankfully the Judge rejected Chambers appeal, now he can go and 'rot' somewhere. Secondly another set of images taken from the St Aubins area (Bel Royal slipway) I'll let you make up your mind:
And we are being told to be proud of our Island !!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is part of our Tourism industry, no wonder we are going downhill !! Tuesday July 8, 2008 8:43: Oh dear Mr Seymour, you seem to have broken the golden rule...'Consult with your users! Its the surfers and users of the area that 'fill' your premise'. Upset them and your on a slippery slope downhill (I did warn you many years ago when you bought the splash!!). And I can't really comment on the outcome of the 'vote of no confidence' on certain people. Bit obvious really! Very poor arguements though!! Ask a quick question as to who owns the 'Re-cycled Granite' company (or who owns any shares in the company) which is used in France. A minor 'crowd' pleaser dismissing the chairman of WEB. Any odds on the next person in charge. My money's on Perchard (Walkers mate!). Thursday June 26, 2008 22:50: How the bloody hell do you not know where you found £300k from ?? Yet again our Minister(s) surpass themselves !!! And I really don't know why they are wasting their time talking about 'WEB' and the Chief Minister. Everyone knows they'll say a few words 'in strong terms' and just go back to square 1. Yawn Yawn....................... Thursday June 19, 2008 16:42: Cyclesportive done and dusted. Report on the Cyclosportives page. Just go Cohen, just go! Friday June 6, 2008 19:08: So the farce is to begin! Now some people might 'shout me down' for being negative, but in my defence I list the following points: 1. The Chief Minister mis-lead the house, by lying about not knowing that the proposed developer was in fact going though a court case in the USA. Lying you say (?) Yes I reply, why?, because he denyed it when questioned, then allowed the vote to go through, then admit the fact that it was true. NOW HE NEVER LEFT THE HOUSE, SO HOW DID HE GET THE INFORMATION? People you choice (!!) 2. The land is fully contaminated, WHO IS GOING TO PICK UP THE BILL TO CLEAN THAT UP? 3. Will the general public, yes us the Tax Payer, ever see the pre-signed off documents (?) to make sure everything is he order (!!) 4. An underground road, with a roundabout (1 way in and 1 way out - yes the same way!!) that has never been undertaken any where else in the world (!!). One wonders why(?). I could go on....but is there any point, you make your mind up (!)..... .....Oh and on anther point, I see the PR department spent £45,000 on PR during the Child Abuse Enquiry (!!) THAT WAS MONEY WELL SPENT (!!) Any refunds (??) Just thought I'd ask....or in fact any jobs going @ that PR company (?) Easy money (!)
Wednesday May 28, 2008 21:09: Personal Notice to - Senator Freddie Cohen 'Don't threaten the people of Jersey just because you don't get your way or your 'favourite' developers in !! Hollow words............JUST LEAVE BEFORE YOU MAKE A COMPLETE MESS!! Wednesday May 28, 2008 20:41: Please, on a safety note test your smoke alarm.
It does not have to be a 'fire' to KILL !! Wednesday May 28, 2008 20:33: So Mr Harper has been offered a 'book' deal, on his career (??!!) my I didn't know he was so 'famous'. Maybe we will find it under the 'Comedy and Farce' section of the book stall. Thursday May 22, 2008 20:07:
I know it happens to the best, but this is scarey........... Paula Radcliffe is suffering from the same injury as me !!! Check it out on this link Albeit a lesser fracture than me..........8 weeks rest for me (!!) Thursday May 22, 2008 19:40: Moving away from our political masters - who apparently can change Laws without anyone knowing now !!!! - and the amazing comments from Lenny Henry sorry Harper (I really hope you are right and of course wrong!)....................... Reviewing my situation (injury) I have now moved on and focused my attention to European cycle races. The 1st of which is the Eddy Merckx 14th June 2008, a nice little 165k race around the pleasant Belgium hillside. Race Details - here Course Details - here Hotel details - here Thursday May 15, 2008 18:36: A BIG WHEEL on the waterfront (?)....What a brilliant idea (!), in fact all you'd have to do is move the States Chamber to the waterfront aswell and you'd have the FULL CIRCUS (!!!) **Just on yesterday's topic of 'a fatality will happen at the Gunsite'....here are some images, you work it out (!)**
View from coming into the parking area. No Signage (!!)
A Blind corner going across the parking area
View looking towards town. Cars on the right, No Signage(!!)
View looking towards West. The blind corner is on the right. Cars can just drive straight over the cycle path . No Signage (!!) So is it me (?) or do you think the 'worsed' will happen (?) Wednesday May 14, 2008 22:29: Ok here we go again, yet more f**k ups from the States and of course no heads will roll - nothing new there then (!!) - Going on from the Bel Royal saga, has anyone seen the 'paintwork' (roadmarking) thats being done along the front cycle path (?). It looks like a 3 yr old who's just learnt how to read and write and use a paint brush has done the work (!) Its atrocious (!) Also I would like to put this comment on the record - There will be a fatality by the Gunsite Cafe this year (!) - WHY? Just have a look at what they have done, then the answer will be clear (!) Another completely stupid re-design (!) Just who does advise and design these changes (??). Wednesday May 14, 2008 8:38: Is it me or does this not 'sum up' Jersey (?) - here - I shall be back with more, but I have to clear my head (!!!) I think we need another Communication unit to look after the other 3 (!!!). Saturday May 10, 2008 14:07: Now I have been known to have a 'rant' or two in my days, whether within this site or 'outside' in the big wide world...but....this is going to be a peach !!!!!! Now reading below you will have noticed that I was diagnosed with an Interior and Deep Posterior Compartment Syndrome....BOLLOCKS!!!!.... not even close...in fact a Stress Fracture of the lower leg was the final outcome, with no surgery needed. How was this medical condition confirmed (?) by a simple x-ray (!!!) was the x-ray done over here (jersey?) no, I had to travel to Leicester to have one taken (!!!) 5 people round a table with confused looks - AT THIS STAGE I WOULD LIKE TO PUT IT ON THE RECORD THAT THE NHS OF LEICESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL WAS EXCELLENT.....no, repeat, no fault of there's - the group couldn't work it out (lovely blonde lady though!!) question after question, then the x-ray was ordered (whislt wondering why I hadn't had one). Disappearing down the hallway and into section 'B'. 10 minutes later armed with the 'sheets' I returned. Light on, sheets up and the offending 'lump' was spotted. 'There's your answer' a stress fracture.......shocked, I was left speechless for a moment or two, until I ask 'how what when and why?'. The answered given I still was annoyed as to why this wasn't spotted @ home(?) Somebody has some answering, considering he hit me with a bill of £150.00 before I'd even left the island (!!!). Our system here is seriously failing. The arrangements to get there..not a problem, again well organised, but the question must still be asked 'Why was an x-ray not ordered before travelling' Thats it for now.....more later......and the rant will continue (!!!) Oh incidentally on another note, I see our beloved 'leader' has voiced his disapproval regarding the Haut de la Garenge issue. Strange how he can do it (along with the Bailiff, I might add) in the full gaze of the general public and media, and Senator Syvret can't say diddle squat within the correct arena of the States Chamber (!!!!) Is that another communications failure (??) my my we'l have to employ another group to look after the other group that looks after the other group (!!!!) GOT ALL THAT (??) YEP 1 RULE FOR 1 AND ANOTHER RULE FOR THOSE WHO HAVN'T GOT A CLUE.....I'll let you work out which is which(!!) ..............I know! Tuesday April 29, 2008 22:11: Just re-written my training diary. All of course subject to what's happening with my leg. If I'm lucky I might just salvage a cycling season in Europe. Contacted TW of Flamme Rouge, going to put our heads together. Saturday April 26, 2008 20:40: It is with great regret that I have some 'bad news' regarding my fitness. Unfortunately I have been struggling with a 'problem' within the left leg. Today I found out that it is (99% sure) Anterior and Deep Posterior Compartment Syndrome which has curtailed my running (been banned from running by Carl Clinton) and therefore my Ironman Race this year. As you can imagine I'm a little down and lost at this moment in time, but on the 'up side' I can continue cycling, which means some european adventures me thinks. Unfortunately I have no idea of a date to correct my problem - it has to be surgery - so I'll have to play it by ear. Info on the problem is below; Anterior and Deep Posterior Compartment Syndrome And now the hardest part - Re-couping the money paid out all ready for the August Ironman Event!!!
Monday April 21, 2008 18:15: Well just over a month has passed since I posted last. Many things have happened (I've been away cycling around Majorca..nice) locally and nationally. I have become increasingly disillusioned with the way our Island is 'heading'. More and more concrete, more and more roadworks (which are apparently an improvement!!) and the loss of our Islands 'personallity'. If the development on the Waterfront goes ahead as planned then I feel that it will be the 'icing on the cake', the end of Jersey as we know it. It is not for the betterment of the Island, it is just lining someone's pocket, who most probably has no idea where Jersey is, or, what Jersey stands for. As mentioned before I have just returned from Majorca and over the pass 5/6 years I have watched it grow. It has improved its railway, its roads, but above all it has kept its identity. Each small town has been given a 'make over', no massive skyscrapers, no stupid underground roads!!. I could go on, but whats the point? I mean whats the point!! My point and case is this Inquiry into the Goose Green Development...WHY??...what a complete waste of time, the bloody site is nearly finished, just what are they going to prove or say ??? 'Oh sorry the world and his dog said no to this development, but it still went ahead, we shall make sure this never happens again' Do you think thats the final findings??... ....I'd put my flat on it !! Wednesday March 19, 2008 16:30: So we now have a New 'Department' which will handle all those 'difficult' questions (and stop those naughty rumours appearing in the National Media). How wonderful (not appearing to attack those sitting on the panel), but, JUST WHAT DO WE PAY A CUMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT FOR THEN ?? SOMEBODY TELL ME..... ANYONE!!!!! What a complete farce!! Thursday March 13, 2008 22:13: Ok so we all have s**t for brains then. According to Mr Cohen (Planning) bulding below the water line will not have any issue's regarding further flooding....WTF?....have you lived in a bubble for the last couple of days Mr Cohen? Even if the wall along the front had remained 'standing' you still would have had flooding issue's. Ah well at least we are not building on marsh land!....DOH!!!... ah but we are building a pumping station near the area............but where is it pumping too?...the cavern's full (without any rainfall..????...) surely not to sea? just what happens when the tides up then ??? Well I surpose it'll help the housing prices.........all that area will have a water feature !! Tuesday March 4, 2008 23:07: The page has been quiet for obvious reasons. For the last couple of weeks I felt that things should be allowed to take their own 'course'. But unfortunately our clever politicians have left me no option but to comment. To see Frank Walker on TV reminded me of the program 'Spitting Images' (if anyone remembers, a load of puppets making amusing comments). His total inability to answer questions in a 'political manner' shows us just how bad Jersey really is. Bad? Yes bad, run by people who really don't know what they are doing and by the grace of God being able to live on an Island that can run itself. Hell the people who invest in the island don't care who's in the 'hot seat' so long as they get their investment back and 'clean!!'. Laundering is the word you are looking for. Anyway the 'spitting images' duo - Walker and Le Sueur - who were joined by our most senior Civil Servant and our Emergency Planning Officer (??), yet another good use of our resources (can anyone tell me why he was there??) made an excellent press conference, with the help of Stuart S, making absolutely no sense what so ever !! I could go on but I really don't want to, but I will end on a question and observation from the press conference, that being - 'Why, after Walker had finished making a twit of himself, did the Emergency Planning Officer take down the States of Jersey banners (?) just before Stuart S 'took the stage'. Is Stuart S not a Minister for the Jersey States (?) or have I missed something (?)' Saturday February 16, 2008 17:41: Oh joy of joy's yet more spin or should I say profiteering by our Ministers. The housing 'problem' which doesn't exist - Buying from outside the Island - according to our Housing Minister, or should I say he doesn't know about it (my arse!) is going to be addressed by our Housing Minister, by way of changing the policy (or adding a new policy) in place so as to stop people from outside of the Island from buying. SO IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN WHY CHANGE/AMEND THE POLICY ??? Does the Minister think we have S**t for brains ?? or is he just treating us with contempt !! The Island is being dictated to be Dandara, make no mistakes on that one, and no doubt 'helping' several people on the way. Yet again this highlights the problem of accountability, there isn't any !! (and as a footnote isn't it amazing how our Ministers can order the parish's to have election all on 1 day for their officers, but we can't do the same for our Ministers.......strange that....NOT !!) A very good line in the Jersey Evening Post states that - 'If we weren't in such a hurry to make a quick buck, then we wouldn't be in such a mess' - How true !! Are we the makers of our own problems ?? Friday February 15, 2008 8:32: I've made a comment or two on my forum page regarding the topical issue of Mr Chambers (Drugs Cheat!). Now I'm not going to go on about it, but the simple answer is that it is wrong...very wrong!...for a number of reasons. The biggest reason is of course 'what message does this send out to our young atheletes?'.....it says go out take drugs, hope you don't get caught, but if you do, admit it, take the two (2) year ban, go train..WITHOUT BEING TESTED FOR THE TWO (2) YEARS!!...and then come back and race. Just how does that work? (Funny how I thought that any athlete had to undo go testing?? Obviously not) Of course this is driven by money, in an effort to regain the cash he has had to pay back. With the comment of 'showing what could be done when clean!' (then why did you cheat in the first place?) I think its going to be a lonely road to Spain. But will he care? No not really....................... Wednesday February 6, 2008 22:57: Whilst not so long ago I had a RANT about car insurance and the fact that the fine for using a uninsured vehicle (car/bike) was about 50p !! And now what do I read ? A NEW LAW HAS BEEN PASSED THAT REQUIRES SOME VEHICLES TO DISPLAY THEIR SPEED LIMIT IS 30 mph. IF THEY DON'T DISPLAY THIS STICKER THEY ARE LIABLE FOR A FINE...£5000.00...WHAT THE FUCKS THAT ALL ABOUT??? THE FINE FOR FAILING TO HAVE INSURANCE IS STILL 50p !!!! WILL YOU STUPID POLITITIANS GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!! ALTHOUGH IT DOES SUM THEM UP!! Monday February 4, 2008 12:52: So with the GST issue coming to a head - being implemented 01st May 08 - How brave are our wonderful polititians going to be and say just how much this has cost to implement !! I would say none!....or....a 'spin' answer going all around the world and not actually stating the true cost. Saturday February 2, 2008 23:24: No idea how many flats are UK owned ?? Excuse me? If you don't know Mr Le Main, then who does? Plus the other question must be 'How many HOUSES are UK owned?' under the heading of Buy to let! Its quite handy no having any figures - WHY? WELL NOBODY CAN PROVE YOU WRONG !! - Ah the spin continues on. Ah well its not all bad news.....we've got an underground road to look forward too!! Bless................. Thursday January 31, 2008 21:50: Well done Mr Crowcroft (Constable of St Helier Parish) stand for yourself and the parish on re-cycling. THE RE-CYCLING IN JERSEY IS A FARCE !! IT COSTS SO MUCH ITS UNTRUE. AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY WE DON'T ACTUALLY RE-CYCLE!! NOT UNLESS YOU CALL BURING RE-CYCLING. FOR ONCE PLEASE SPEND MONEY AND CREATE A CORRECT RE-CYCLING PROGRAM. How? Well start by building the correct facility, and then provide every household with the correct type of 'bins', then educate - people want to re cycle you fools - allow a 'cooling off' period, then maybe introduce fines. You will have to spend to succeed !!! And as a footnote, Yes Mr Constable, you are correct the proposed new waterfront idea of building a road underground is just plain STUPID!! 'No traffic problems during construction??' Hell shit you have problems now you dum dum's. Wednesday January 30, 2008 15:29: Been a bit re-miss in making comments on me site, sorry, but training has started again so times are limited. Anyway, I surpose another reason is that I'm fed up with our Politicians making a nest egg for themselves - in all ways!! Its still a crazy situation where-by you 'work' in a job that is guaranteed for 6 years @ £40k with no accountability. Everyday a 'mess' happens and all thats seems to happen is that a 'colleague' will voice his/her disapproval and then it all 'blows' away - with nothing done !! Oh and still waiting for our spineless Ministers to apologise to the Former Health Minister. They were quick enough to 'slam' him. I hope that the rumours are true that a previous inquiry (By present day Ministers) found nothing wrong. name and shame thats what I say!! (But there again we'll never see the full report, only the watered down amended version!!) Monday January 21, 2008 20:24: World Markets (USA) tumble......but hey that doesn't effect us here in Jersey (does it?) Were special. Friday January 11, 2008 21:21: Isn't it funny how Jersey is going to be the only country in the world to miss the Credit Crunch which has hit the property market. Time will tell whether the Ministers of the Island should have a 'pat on the back' or a 'slap' to get themselves into the real world. Friday January 11, 2008 21:18: An obvious result really - here - but until a lifetime ban is imposed for all those caught and prosecuted (whatever their sport) then you will have many more of these types of 'incidents'. Monday January 7, 2008 18:31: What an absolute load of PR dribble!! Tourism is on the up. Now thats according to the JHA President (Lapidus). His figures (?) come from the (carefully worded) arrivals to the Island during 2007. Are all the arrivals visitors? NO they are not, more and more people are travelling for the purpose of work (Finance, to and from the Island) and not for visiting and staying in the Island. Yet more SPIN, which really isn't helping the Island. Here's a question - ' Can you break down the figures to show the real visitor numbers?' FYI - the last time they did this the 'PR' guru's used the day trippers from France (not used before) to boast up the numbers. Oh and just as a final footnote (observation) - 'How can your figures be up when every week (during 07) we have a Hotel/Lodging House closing down?' Thank you........................... The Island has a property boom (?)...up by 20% with more to follow (!) This only leads to ONE THING......a big BANG!.....'Just how many people are in debt? and by how much?'....thats a big question that must be answered. How long is it before we have a massive recession and property crash? You heard it first here folks (and i'm not being negative, I live in the real world!) That last section is bookmarked and linked at the top of the page under I told you so. Saturday January 5, 2008 16:38: First it was WEB (Waterfront Enterprise Board) (what a fuck up that was/is) now they want to form JEB (Jersey Enterprise Board) (?)..to manage states property sales......is it just me ??? Oh and Happy New Year - what a way to start !!!! And I'm afraid to announce that as of today I will be remove the 'Find Maddie' link....I'm really not sure about this (the disapperance of Maddie) and feel something else is going on..................... Monday December 24, 2007 21:54: Bah Humbug !!! ...............but anyway, here's wishing you one and all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Lets hope it brings you all that you wish for.
Training will continue, 10k run Crimbo Day - any takers? - from FSHQ @ 1700hrs'ish, 'e' me @gov.je b4 1600hrs. Working on 08 program (Majorca booked) Main aim IMC 24th August (going to race this event for the 1st time). Thursday December 20, 2007 16:21: As reported on this page, a few moon's ago, I raised the question of how do football fans (?) get away with abusing players and management? Now it seems that the players have had enough - here Just who does read this web site (?) Power people, or is that people power (?). Friday December 14, 2007 20:59: 1 national issue......yet again no englishman to manage the national team (football)...I'm not really sure what the FA (football association) actually do (?) 3 local 'bits'.......Do we not produce local fresh food (?) for our shops (?) Apparently not, due to the stormy conditions @ sea 'fresh food' will not be appearing on our shop floor (s) because the ship(s) couldn't sail (strange world we live in) Money laundering through property sales(?) surely not, I' shocked and yet....once again the horse has already bolted people!! And at last some common sense, Stuart Syvret has 'escaped' any punishment for his 'outburst' during the last States sitting. I wonder when he will get an unreserved apology for our Chief Minister?? Wednesday December 5, 2007 16:06: The old boys network is working wonders again I see. Former Health Minister (sacked for being RIGHT!!) Stuart Syvret, whilst making his christmas speech in the 'house' had his mircophone turned off by the Bailiff - nice - me thinks a nerve was touched. I do hope the rumours that are circulating are false - investigations have already taken place (several years ago) into the abuse scandel and put 'under the carpet' by senior ministerial persons...DOH!!!! - lets hope not !!!! Tuesday December 4, 2007 19:29: So what clever person want's to spend (sorry spent!) £14k on 'muscle beach style' gym equipment along the front @ St Aubins?? Not content with the area already a hazard (due to the numbers of punters around there - bikes/mothers/children/runners/walkers/etc) we are now adding to the problem. Why not solve the problem first (make it safe) then add 'bits' to enhance the area (SILLY ME THATS SENSIBLE!!) Monday December 3, 2007 13:32: So on the local front, we have 2 firms who have been found to be 'price fixing', but for some strange reason, we the taxpayer and possible buyer from these 2 firms, are not allowed to know who they are....WHY????.....Are we not allowed to know because of Data Protection? or something else? As a possible buyer of some goods from one (or both) of these firms don't I have the right to know that I'm going to be ripped off? Sunday December 2, 2007 10:08: Things are looking good for the 2008 Games - here
Thursday November 29, 2007 19:47: Why does the FA Chief Executive ask every man jack and his dog who should be the next England Football Manager? Is it so he doesn't get the blame(?!?) when he muck's up again! Why do we pay him anyway? What do we pay him for? Thursday November 29, 2007 17:40: Well after several 'slow days' within the press publications I'm pleased to announce that 'all hell has broken loose', and I'm not sure where to begin....so here goes... Headline: Flats must be bigger build - Well I'll go to the foot of my stairs (if I had any!), and what happens to the one's that are already built? and why are we still building more? Northern Rock in Jersey? - Surely not in the squeaky clean Island of Jersey are we the subject of controversy. I can't wait to see (or Hear) the outcome of that headline in the Guardian newspaper which alleges Northern Rock have used a Charity name without the Charity knowing about it! In short - Money laundering - is the name of the game me feels (allegedly!). **As a footnote and after thought I wonder if the Government of the UK knew about that amount of money being 'stashed away' in 'clean Jersey' as they signed a cheque for £25Bn?
Child protection - My mind begins to wonder (and wander) whether or not our Ministers were trying to 'hide the facts' about the problems within our child care? I hope that this is not the case, but if it is I believe the lot of them should learn how to duck!! Town Park - Well yet again I'm agast to hear that the cost of clearing up the Gas Place area is going to be more that first anticipated. The 'common man' would never has worked that one out! Finish on a positive note? Ok then, well done the Planning Department for knocking that horrible development in St Brelades on the head Thursday November 29, 2007 16:07: The Island has a 'new logo' - the flying banana - and I've got one for the waterfront -
A winner if ever I saw one! - and cheap too!! Wednesday November 28, 2007 16:42: Early warning system, saw this little fella getting in some training.....wonder why?......run forest run!!
Monday November 26, 2007 20:14: So the Football Association (FA) is not accountable then? The letters - FA - should really stand for something else, anyone guess what I'm thinking? Dandara want more time on their development on the marsh's (why?) Need more time (over 6 months) to decide on a colour scheme (?) Oh dear I hope things are not going wrong! That would be a shame! Wednesday November 21, 2007 20:08: I'll tell you what, the Wembley Football Pitch/Stadium is well worth the money! Shame the FA didn't 'order' a roof! Tuesday November 20, 2007 20:47: Race reports up............... here Monday November 19, 2007 19:37: Well ran the Spartan Half Marathon on Sunday (18th), now that's what I call weather. Well I suppose we were warned, one day they had to get it right! Race report to be written and published in the Results/Reports page - here - as soon as I can. Saturday November 17, 2007 18:08: Ok let's review things shall we. What am I talking about? Our Environment Ministers comments during an interview in the local paper (Jersey Evening Post). For those of you who have read the article I shall make my views as per the interview (for any others who have not I'll try and find a copy of the interview electronically). Paragraph 1 (bullet points) £75m ? - How do you come to this figure? Lower prices around town? - How and where? 300 more flats - When only this week an expert in the property market told Jersey to stop building flats AND JERSEY itself said it was building the 'wrong' type of properties (flats!!) Do they not listen to themselves? An old historic town? Are we still in Jersey or are we joining up with someone else with this tunnel? Your Historic part of town is 'miles away'. As in fact Mr Cohen states that in the interview (Royal Square area). The arguments against it? hard to predict? only about using up the reclamation site? You think that's all Mr Cohen? God how stupid is that.....read on please. We don't have any choice? It finance or nothing then? Well at least the government have admitted that at last! Ruin the tourist industry and over price everything else. The site is a mess, will continue to be a mess and will end up a mess! Something the Island hasn't seen before? What a total mess? Yes we've seen this before, look around you! The premises being left empty when the banks/etc move down to the wonderful new site - OH AND WHO ON EARTH CAN PREDICT WHAT THE STATE OF THE FINANCE INDUSTRY WILL BE IN 8 YEARS TIME? LOOK AT AMERICA (morgage problems, big style, that hasn't hit home yet!) WHO IS TO SAY ANOTHER COUNTRY WILL NOT OFFER BIGGER AND BETTER FACILITIES? All your eggs in one basket (finally admitted, excellent) - 'going to be used as residential? what does that mean? The Minister has great confidence in the planning department and believes that the 'correct type' of building and design will be forthcoming. Much like the Royal Yacht (incorrect planning permission) the premise in St Clements (incorrect planning permission) but still allowed to stand (no alleged corruption there then!). Applying his great knowledge in the development industry has helped him in his position as Environment Minister, jury's out on that one! Just a couple of points to finish on (mainly because i'm getting bored with re reading that dribble) 1. Traffic problems? None? How stupid is that, you have problems now! 2. Your infrastructure, what are you doing about that? 3. The removal of car parking as is. Where are you going to put all those cars whilst developing the area and after the development is completed? 4. You are being told everyday by everyone that building flats (more!) is wrong. So why do you allow it? More profit in flats than houses, that's why! But hey we have control over what's being built on the Waterfront! NOT!! People, I'll leave to you to make up your own mind, the above might sound like people/Island bashing, but all the questions must be answered before proceeding forward, but unfortunately because its all out of our hands, the questions and answers cannot be forthcoming. Dictatorship rules!!!! THE END................ Friday November 16, 2007 19:43:
After a week of 'busting my arse' in a effort to 'break' my injury problem, I have found myself possibly fit (calf injury free) enough to run on Sunday (run fitness might be a question mark) Mind you the weathers not looking too good :( ......but hey lets finish the season off right. Friday November 16, 2007 17:11: Buy a company (CI Traders) then strip it of its assets! Well well here we go Jersey, just wait for GST to kick in, allow 'external companies' to buy local companies (pay no TAX!) and then sell them on. I really am in the wrong game! Thursday November 15, 2007 19:42: And the fight against Drugs in Sport continue's - here - interesting reading. On the local front, apparently building a tunnel under the underpass will create a traffic problem! No Shit! Yet more money for someone with a stupid idea, the Island will benefit from it? What a load of rubbish. 2010 here we come................... Monday November 12, 2007 19:23: Been off the radar for a couple of weeks, sorry, anyway nothing new. Ministers ignoring the public who voted them in !! Well what do you expect from a bunch of untouchables !! They say that they are accountable, but to whom??? Must certainly not us. And the waterfront development is not going to cost the tax payer a penny (?) Any chance of that in writing, and then having the true facts as to who actually owns the waterfront! Well at least we are not paying £50,000pa to WEB - Opps oh yes we are, isn't that tax payers money?? You work mit out..roll on 2010 !! I can't wait! Tuesday October 30, 2007 7:28: Just a short memo to the punters who are against GST and the Minister involved, it reads - 'If you wish to argue against GST, please have the intelligence to come up with an alternative solution, and not just say no. And to the Minister involved, don't look at other domains! Just your own books!!' Sunday October 28, 2007 17:27: Just some news on the local front regarding an incident that took place last month. A local cyclist was rammed off his bike and seriously injured, the driver of the vehicle has allegedly no insurance, so the injured party has possibly got all the problems of going through the civil courts to recover any funds due to him. The funds mentioned are vast! Its not just his bike and personal loss (body) but being self employed its loss of earnings, potential earning, and the fact that whilst recovering he is not allowed to undertake any form of exercise until the Official paperwork has been done. The reason? Well obvious really, because the oppostion's legal team would argue against any claims (which will take at least 4 years to get to court!) stating that any exercise (or work) might have contributed to any alleged injury (aggravated it!). Now the main point of this 'diddy' is that the injured party is INSURED VIA THE BRITISH CYCLING FEDERATION (here) now they have been brilliant, and I mean brilliant. JPB has only the Silver membership, and the federation sent someone over, talked to JPB, paid any bills due (as of this date) set up the legal team (who are masters of these types of incidents!) and are now handling everything! Boys and Girls, Ladies and Gentleman - the moral of the 'ditty' is get yourself's insured, for the amount it cost's look at what you are getting or in fact look at what would happen if you were not insured!!!
DO IT NOW!!!!! Thursday October 18, 2007 18:19: Well at last Oscar P has been named as the Tour De France winner for 2007
News write up - here - and they are still not happy as FL is appealing, I'm still lost!! Friday October 12, 2007 19:49: The drugs saga rumbles on - here Monday September 24, 2007 20:42: Well there's a big shock - Landis appeal knock out of court - I really do despair at the state of cycling @ the moment. Please somebody sort it out Wednesday September 19, 2007 22:19: The Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon on Sunday 07th October 2007 require some marshall's for their race. If you can assist them then please click the link below - Volunteer Form for the Jersey Marathon full story... Remember races don't go ahead without the volunteer's, it doesn't matter whether its cycling/running/swimming or any sport, help matters. Tuesday August 7, 2007 12:38: Well blow me over. Just why is everyone in such a hurry? Been out on the bike a couple of times, nearly been bowled over by drivers, who, if the truth be known, wouldn't get any further down the road. And just what is going on with the cycle track along the front? Just for my information, and observations, I biked up to Les Q this a.m. for some gymwork, and I decided to go around 0830hrs and 'have a look' at what happens with the 'punters' who use the 'track'. Well talk about a mess!! Its an accident waiting to happen - and a bad one at that!! - bikes traveling way to fast, not looking where they are going, parents and kids roaming, dog owners appearing out of nowhere. Somethinf has to be done, and quickly. Monday August 6, 2007 19:45: Just back from a couple of weeks in the sunshine of Majorca. It was just an extension of the training here, with the main aim still the Jersey Marathon (Oct 06th), and to get some hot weather. Anyway watched the TDF, say no more, but over all it was a good race. Have made a couple of comments though - here - please feel free to read. Saturday June 30, 2007 17:13: Not much happening on the bike front, its all running/gym training now - Jersey Marathon Oct 06th 2007 (main aim) - so this part of the site is going to be quiet :( Never mind the news and views page on the Multi Sport site is up and 'running' Tour De France starts soon - here Tuesday May 22, 2007 22:32: Well just back from French France. An excellent week-end of racing reports on cyclosportives page. Saturday April 28, 2007 22:08: Well back from the games, refreshed and ready to go. First thing is a bit of training - log here - and getting prepared for a couple of Sportives in France (100k+148K back to back). After that I may do 1 race @ home over the holiday period and then back to the running (Jersey Marathon Oct 06). Saturday March 10, 2007 23:14: Just set this up - World Police and Fire Games personal Blog - hopefully it'll work. For duration of Games (+ R&R) Friday March 9, 2007 8:29: Took a Power Test with Tony W (Flamme Rouge) seems the results were a mirror ('ish) image of last time (June 06) with the one big difference being the Lactic result. Last time 25+, this time 6+. Once I get the electronic results I'll produce (last time + this time) Friday March 2, 2007 8:37: Ok a couple of things here, one being have you caught the latest issue of Cycling Weekly yet? An interesting interview with Floyd Landis who states quite clearly that he has not failed a dope test? or should I say a Positive dope test...uuummmm...this link seems to say he did fail....Ok are we playing a word game here? me thinks so, also very interesting article about the med's he has been taking for an 'old' medical problem (namely the hip problem), the defence? here. Moving on from that, can someone please tell me what on earth is going on regarding the ICU/Pro Tour and uncle tom cobbly, where is cycling heading? 'e' me please, I'm only a simple folk you know! Sunday February 11, 2007 21:22: Well the Tour of Majorca has just started, just wish it was televised :( On the local front (well sportives front actually) looks like the May double in French France is on (getting numbers involved) and the DFS Bikers might, I say might, have doubled its membership !! (up 100% in stat's terms) Look out world here we come.
