Training update

2008

Monday July 7, 2008 19:48:

Well as you should now know thr IMC 08 has gone out of the window. But never mind every cloud has a silver lining (I hope!!).

So its cycling around Europe (Cyclesportives) for 3 races (June 14/Aug 22/Sept 06) and 3 sea swim's (July 03/July 13/Aug 13). Now if all things go well and my injury (stress fracture) heals, I'll be aiming @ the Spartans Half Marathon (Nov 16) for a grand finish to the season.

After a weeks R&R (or more) not sure where, my plans for next year will begin. A bike coach (to employ) with the aim WPFG's in Vancouver during July 09.

This year I'll be travelling back to Penticton for my 'Main Event' of the year (Ironman Canada). So with that in mind my training will involve all 3 disciplines (with races incorperated during the build up, see personal events) all of which can be tracked by clicking the image above, which will take up to my training log.

2006 - 2007

My personal training program has started - November 01st 2006 - the main aim being the World Police and Fire Games in Adelaide during the month of March 2007.

Blog page (now finished for the event) setup here for the duration of the Games (+ R&R)

Monthly training is as follows (updated weekly):

November (finished)

December (finished)

January (finished)

February (finished)

March (finished)

Summary of Bike totals

Because the training is taking place during our winter months, the programs are weather dependant, in other words subject to change if neccessary.

As of Monday 11th December 2006, I will be introducting - Swimming + Running - into the equation. Swimming will be done (30min sessions) afternoons after Bikework, and the Running (15min sessions) will be done after Gymwork. The duration of each will be increased as each month goes by (10 minutes each month).

My complete training schedule - click here - which includes gym work, swimming and running

Aswell as the training above, a 'gauge' of where I am has been undertaken. By this I mean a Power Test - by Flamme Rouge (Tony W) - I shall produce the results as soon as I get them (also last years test results, to compare)

After the Games? Some sportives are planned;

Pierre Jodet - 19th May - Distance - 175k

The Broceliande Classique - 20th May - Distance 110k
